Background Checks and Candiate Screeenings
Hiring a household employee is one of the most important hiring decisions you will ever make. Your family’s privacy and security are at stake.
As part of our thorough screening and placement process, Town + Country conducts full candidate screening and basic background checks as described below at no additional charge on every permanent candidate we place as part of your referral fee.
In addition, Town + Country can also provide background checks and candidate screening for clients who have found a candidate on their own. We offer two levels of background investigation for clients who source a candidate on their own, plus separate home staffing advisory and consulting services. Please note that we are only able to investigate candidates who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States. All candidates for background investigations must sign an Authorization for Release of Information form.

Additional background checks including civil and criminal records, out of state driving records, education verification, and national wants and warrants are available on an a la carte basis.
Turnaround time for a basic background check is 2 to 3 business days. Turnaround time for a full candidate screening is dependent on availability of the candidate and is typically completed within 5 business days of an in-person interview.
Advisory and Consulting Services
For clients who have not already paid the Registration Fee, we offer home staff personnel advisory and consulting services to provide assistance and support with such things as determining your staffing needs, defining job specifications, and assisting and supporting your recruiting, screening, and hiring process. Home staff personnel advisory and consulting services are provided on an hourly basis.
Note: The services described above in connection with TrustLine provide you with everything you will need for you and your candidate to complete their own TrustLine registration application. Town + Country can also manage & help your candidate complete the application process, including obtaining LiveScan fingerprints and electronic submission of their application, for an additional fee of $150.
