Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9)
As part of our screening process, Town + Country reviews all of the candidate’s appropriate legal documents. It is the employer’s responsibility to have the employee complete an I-9 (employment eligibility verification form) at the time of employment.
As an employer, you and your new employee must complete the Form I-9 within 3 days of starting work. You should make photocopies of the documents your employee is using to satisfy the Form I-9 requirements. (Photos should also suffice if you don’t have a copy machine. Be sure to print out copies of the photos you take.) There is no fee for completing Form I-9. This form is not filed with the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service or any government agency. Instead, Form I-9 must be retained by the employer and made available for inspection by U.S. Government officials as specified in the Form I-9 instructions.
